Job Opening – Plant Manager

    Position: Plant Manager

    Location: Dallas, Texas

    Duties:

    • Supervise production of quality cabinet products through continuous monitoring of plant operations and assessment of daily production flow to meet customer demand and schedules.
    • Oversee machinery and facilities inspections, upkeep, and repairs to ensure continuous operations.
    • Ensure compliance with production standards and quality assurance while identifying and implementing cost-containment strategies and adhering to the budget
    • Apply Lean Manufacturing best practices and develop and implement procedures to and drive continuous process improvement, enhance efficiency and productivity and reduce overhead.
    • Oversee engineering activities, including time studies, the application of AutoCad and solid works to design plant and production-cell layouts, and PLC programming for production-cell equipment.
    • Effectively plan manpower and utilize labor hours to maximize profit and minimize waste and scrap.
    • Develop plant budget and analyze forecast and production data to assess capacity and financial impact throughout the organization.
    • Ensure compliance with safety practices and all regulatory requirements.
    • Directly supervise production managers and indirectly supervise all other plant personnel, including delegating work assignments, developing employees, evaluating performance, imposing discipline, authorizing leaves-of-absence, and approving hiring, promotion, compensation, and discharge decisions.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
    • 7 years of durable-goods manufacturing operations experience, 1 year of which must involve management
    • Experience with applying Lean Manufacturing or similar process-improvement strategies in a large-scale, complex manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with time studies.
    • Experience designing plant and production-cell layouts using AutoCad and solid works.
    • Experience with PLC programming.
    • Experience with manpower planning
    • Experience with developing budgets.
